What we know
- The deal: In September 2026, A24 took worldwide theatrical rights and joined as a co-producer alongside Spooky Pictures and Image Nation Studios. A theatrical release is planned for 2027.
- A first for V/H/S: The series has streamed on Shudder for years. This would be the first V/H/S film made for theaters.
- The format: Like the other V/H/S films, it is an anthology. Each segment follows a different object, entity or unexplained event, tied together by the Foundation’s containment-breach setting.
- The producers: Roy Lee and Steven Schneider of Spooky Pictures, with Josh Goldbloom and Michael Schreiber, who worked on earlier V/H/S films.

The license question
The SCP Wiki’s stories are published under CC BY-SA 3.0. That license lets anyone adapt them, but anything built on them has to carry the same license and credit the original authors, so no one can hold exclusive rights to the SCP universe. The SCP Wiki said it was not consulted about this film and pointed to that rule. As of this update, neither A24 nor the producers have answered publicly.
